Miss Earth Australia 2009 Pageant
 The Miss Earth Australia is part of Miss Earth International, one of the world’s top three international beauty pageants, sporting contestants from over 100 different countries each year. Aiming to showcase young women, who are active within their community against the most pressing environmental issues, the Miss Earth beauty pageant promotes environmental conservation awareness.
Contestants are judged on their public speaking ability with a focus on environmental issues, beauty, elegance and poise. The official judging panel is made up of key sponsors, local personalities and celebrities.
V Club’s Chief Operating Officer, Lusiano Afeaki, a judge at the Miss Earth Australian 2009 pageant, believes that V Club can play a major part in taking the lead in everyday and long term initiatives to help protect our environment.
Melinda Heffernan, the winner of Miss Earth Australia 2009 was crowned on Saturday 19th September and will be the sixth Australian candidate to be sent to the international pageant to compete against other candidates from all over the world. We wish her all the best and look out for Melinda around V Club.
As a member of V Club we are asking that you do your part. We are implementing waste segregation policies, so please reuse your plastic bottles or recycle bottles and newspapers by placing these items in the bins provided. Save water by keeping your showers to a minimum, we advise a maximum of 3 minute showers and using the half flash button on the toilets. You can also check out the Timetable on line rather than printing a copy downloading your preferred classes directly to your outlook calendar. These are some very simple steps to take that can lead to improved environmental change.
